Midwest Interfaith Immigration Summit
September 10, 2008 9:00 am - September 11, 2008 4:00 pm
Columbus, Ohio
The Midwest Interfaith Immigration Summit is a two-day conference, scheduled for September 10th and September 11th in Columbus, Ohio, that will bring faith-based leaders and advocates in the Midwest region together to work toward educating and mobilizing their communities in support of fair and humane immigration reform. The Summit will include interactive workshops and strategic break out sessions by faith and by state. Additional details, access to a flyer, and a link to register can be found at www.hias.org/midwest-interfaith-immigration-summit. Register by August 15 for the early bird discount. Participants will be attending from the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

    Keep up to date on local and national issues affecting your community. Connect with others who share your concerns.

    Participate in civic life. Attend public meetings when you can. Volunteer in your community. Run for public office.
  • Add your voice
    Know your elected officials. Call and write them whenever they need it. Talk about issues with your friends and neighbors. Write letters to the editor.
  • Register to vote!
    Encourage others to register and vote as well.
