Mujeres Unidas/Women United is starting a new and exciting public forum series entitled "Voz de Mujer Latina Public Issues Forum."

In this series which has been meeting quarterly since Fall 2008, Mujeres Unidas will invite prominent Latina women speakers to reframe local, state, and national/global issues from a Latina woman's perspective.

The format includes a presentation/lecture by the featured speaker followed by a discussion by Latina women and then by the entire audience.

The first presentation in the series will be by Amalia Anderson, Mexica community member and organizer for the Racies and Main Street Project, will speak on creating Latina voice in local government, institutions and policies.

This is a partnership with the Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center and Moorhead Community Education.

The project is supported in part by grant funds from the Women's Fund of the Fargo/Moorhead Area Foundation, Headwaters Foundation for Justice, Women's Foundation of Minnesota, and Catholic Campaign for Human Development.

All parts of the series will be held at Hjemkomst Center.
